Read speed and stamina first. Skins and saddles change the look only. A stat reroll is random and can come out slower than the horse you already ride.
a bizarre run horse
Decision rule
Sandman races without a mount and can take long jumps. Top speed arrives slowly, so acceleration and stamina decide whether that route fits the next stage.
Pay for a horse upgrade or stat reroll in A Bizarre Run only after speed and stamina on the mount you already ride become the actual bottleneck. If your next race is an on-foot Sandman run, horse purchases and mount stat rolls do not carry over to your character.
Horse purchase versus Sandman
| Question | Horse purchase | Sandman |
|---|---|---|
| What you ride | You stay in the saddle. Appearance is a separate buy from the stat roll. | No saddle. The route is the Stand's own movement. |
| What you pay for | Learn the current mount before you buy another roll. | A horse purchase does not hand this route a faster mount. |
| Speed | Compare speed and stamina on the horse you have. | Budget time for speed to build, then watch stamina. |
| What to practise | Slipstream and the mounted keys still belong to this route. | Practise the jumps before you trust them in a live stage. |

Sandman caveat
Do not expect a horse's line, or a stamina roll you just paid for, to carry over when you switch to Sandman.
Before the next race
Gyro stands directly behind you when you load into the lobby spawn, so turn your camera around before walking toward the registration gate.
The daily and weekly quest board tracks race placement, player eliminations, and finding a Corpse Part, and login rewards are waiting when you return for a new session.
Completing Stage 1 and Stage 2 still pays cash and Stand progression resources even when you finish outside first place. SHIFT to sprint, T to call your mount after falling off, and F for your one-time boost remain the core mounted keys.
In the lobby, inspect the speed and stamina of your starter horse and run at least one full two-stage course before paying for a stat reroll. Because stat rerolls are random rather than guaranteed upgrades, rerolling without extra cash in reserve can leave you with worse stats than you started with.
Separating horse skins, saddles, and random stat rerolls
Horse customization splits visual options from performance numbers. Skins and saddles only alter how your mount looks in the lobby and on the course; they never add top speed, acceleration, or stamina recovery. When you open the horse customization menu, check whether the button you are about to click is a cosmetic skin or a stat reroll so you do not spend race cash on appearance while trying to fix a slow mount.
If you draw Sandman and decide to race on foot, remember that Sandman abandons the horse entirely. Instead of drafting in a horse pack with mounted sprinting and pressing T after a fall, Sandman builds running speed gradually over time and crosses gaps with large leaps. Practice how long Sandman takes to reach top speed and how much stamina each jump consumes before committing to an elimination stage.
On a mounted route, Stage 1 forbids shooting rival riders directly, so your opening advantage comes from holding SHIFT in another rider's slipstream, dodging cactus hazards, and watching for TNT explosions or a destroyed bridge ahead. Once you leave the train shop and enter Stage 2, ride straight toward the checkpoint before its timer expires and stay ahead of the rear pack where the Boom Boom Brothers event targets trailing riders.
